Anthony Upton: I’m gifted but not arrogant

ANTHONY Upton showed Belfast fight fans why he feels confident enough to call himself ‘gifted’ in the Holiday Inn last Friday night.

Upton, one of three boxing brothers, made his Belfast debut against Alec Bazza and produced a performance that made the watching fans sit up and take note.

Upton was full of panache and power and had his foe on the ground in  the second, third and fourth rounds before the encounter was called off.

The Belfast fighter, who is now 3-0 was obviously delighted with his performance post bout.

“I have confidence in my own ability and he was a very tough boy. I will now take a wee break but then I will be out again in five weeks and then three weeks after that.

“I am gifted, I’m not arrogant, but I can box and we know I have power,” he added.

And Upton says is was great to be back boxing In Belfast.

“It’s brilliant. I have not fought here in a while, so it is good to get back and show everyone what I can do.

“My girlfriend and little baby are here and even though I am away at training camps, she is very supportive and I really appreciate that,” he added.
