Andy Lee in Las Vegas to Take Care of World Title Business

Andy Lee (33-2, 23KO’s) is a fighter on a mission as he prepares to challenge unbeaten middleweight contender Matt Korobov (24-0, 12KO’s) for the vacant WBO world middleweight title on December 13, 2014 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada.

The tall 6’2’’ Irish fighter is in the final stages of his preparations for his world title bid and is looking in great condition and extremely sharp in sparring.

Lee is in the best shape of his life and he has only two things on his mind going into this fight; winning and winning impressively. He firmly believes he has the boxing skills and power to beat Matt Korobov and is very focused on the job he has to do.

Lee’s astute manager and trainer, Adam Booth commented ‘Preparations for the fight could not have been any better; Andy is a very disciplined and determined fighter and he is physically and mentally prepared for this fight.’

‘We have prepared for the best of Matt Korobov, he had a world class amateur career and is undefeated as a pro. However, Andy is a big middleweight and he has vast experience as an amateur and professional. He can box on the outside, fight at close quarters and has the power to take a fighter out with either hand.’

Lee is no stranger to fighting in America; he has fought there 21 times including 3 times in Las Vegas.

The Irishman turned pro 8 years ago under the guidance of legendary boxing manager and trainer, Emanuel Steward and established himself as a Kronk fighter from his pro debut at the Joe Louis Arena, Detroit on March 10, 2006. His mentor and friend sadly passed away in on October, 25, 2012.

Steward once said ‘Andy Lee is my Irish Tommy Hearns, tall rangy fighter who can punch. Always gives 100%.’

Lee relocated to London, England in the summer of 2012 and hooked up with Adam Booth and both have been on a winning run of five straight wins. They have developed a good working relationship in the gym and Lee’s game has been enhanced with a few adjustments.

Andy’s last fight was at Madison Square Garden in June 2014 when he knocked out world title contender John Jackson with a devastating right hook in the fifth round. Lee will be looking to repeat this impressive knockout performance come Saturday night.

A relaxed and confident Lee commented ‘I relish this opportunity to fight for the WBO middleweight title; I have never been more ready to win the title. I am totally focussed on the fight and I’m ready to take care of business on Saturday night.’

‘I have learnt a lot over the years, I’ve been in different fights and training camps and I’ve picked up a lot of experience along the way. I’ve fought a lot of different guys with different styles, been in different situations, faced adversity, and I fought my way through. This is my time and my date with destiny.’

Andy will have the luck of the Irish on his side, but more than that he will have all the tools required to realize his dream and destiny.
