Aaron McKenna handed replacement debut date
Less than 24 hours after finding out his dream debut in New York had been cancelled, Monaghan 18 year old Aaron McKenna has been handed a new date for his first fight.
The 18 year old Golden Boy prospect was set to feature the Madison Square Garden Arena last night on the Miguel Cotto v Sadam Ali WBO light middleweight title undercard.
However, the Big Apple bout was shelved on the day of the fight as proposed opponent Victor Eddy Gaytan [2(1)-3(0)] of Mexico was ruled out due to licensing issues.
With no time to find a replacement, ‘The Silencer’ was moved from the bill, but will not have long to wait until he makes his debut.
It has been confirmed that McKenna will now appear on the Orlando Salido v Miguel Roman undercard at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas next Saturday (December 9th).
Also featuring on the bill will be a vacant IBF super featherweight title fight between Tevin Farmer and Kenichi Ogawa, Francisco Vargas v Stephen Smith, Denis Shafikov v Rene Alvarado, as well as appearances from Jaime Munguia, Emilio Sanchez, Pedro Duran, Sulem Urbina, Joselito Velasquez.
