Double date for Dylan – Moran to return from first defeat with quickfire turnaround

Dylan Moran [10(5)-1(1)] has two dates lined up and will fight in Mexico and America this Autumn.

The Waterford welterweight will set up camp in San Diego for two quick fire bouts either side of the Mexican American border.

The first of ‘The Real Deal’s’ two Autumn clashes will play out in Mexico as Moran returns to Tijuana the venue where he beat Javier Rivera Meza last year.

The Mexican wing of the two fight trip plays out first and on September 21.

The welterweight, who is signed to Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing, will then return to America where he will fight on a yet to be confirmed date at a yet to be confirmed venue.

The pair of fights will be the Deise fighters first since he suffered his first pro defeat back in late June.

The Waterford fighter traveled Stateside hoping to register a win that would start a new exciting next level era of his career.

However his American and Star Boxing debut didn’t end as expected as he was defeated by Dennis Okoth.

Moran initially looked confident in his new surroundings, found a rhythm early, but just as it appeared like he was was about to begin to stamp real authority on proceedings he was caught and dropped.

Former international-level amateur Okoth was never going to let the 24-year-old off the hook and went for the kill. He dropped Moran twice more forcing the referee to call a halt to proceeds over half a minute shy of the end of the third.

Moran has been defiant since the reverse promising to bounce back stronger.

He now has the chance to put some daylight between himself and a hard to take defeat with two fights in quick succession in the Autumn.
