WATCH: Team Hogan release video showing Team Munguia ‘agreeing’ to a rematch
The chances of Jaime Munguia giving Dennis Hogan a rematch look to be slowly making their way from slim down to none.
DDP Sports and Team Hogan have been calling for the return since the Mexican controversially retained his WBO light middleweight title via points victory in his home country back in April of this year.
However, the champion has now reportedly been offered a shot a fellow Mexican and one of the sports biggest names Saul Canelo Alvarez, while reports also have him linked to a fight with Gennady Golovkin.
With those fights on the table it’s most likely the Zanfer and Golden Boy puncher won’t look the way of the Australia-based Kildare fighter.
Indeed, Irish-Boxing.com revealed last month that Munguia turned down an offer from Golden Boy to rematch with ‘The Huricane’ in America in October.
Hogan’s promoters have been left upset by the fact their man has been overlooked and have pointed out that a rematch was all but offered in the ring post the controversial result being read out.
Team Munguia denied as much – and whilst they can safely claim no official offer of a repeat has be sent the way of DDP- team Hogan moved to release proof a promise of a return was made on the ni ght.
DDP Sports released the following video today where Fernando Beltran, Munguia and his coach all appear rematch affable.
