Forget Gervonta – Lou DiBella warns Tevin Farmer ahead of Jono Carroll clash

Forget Gervonta Davis, Tevin Farmer has to focus on Jono Carroll and March 15th warns suspicious promoter Lou DiBella.

The IBF super featherweight champion has been linked to ‘Tank’ ever since linking up with Matchroom and DAZN and has shared his fair share of verbals with the WBA title holder.

It’s a fight there seems to be a real appetite for Stateside and a unification bout that could generate a career high payday for both.

However, DiBella, who worked with Andy Lee and Matthew Macklin at various stages of their careers, is adamant Carroll can’t be underestimated or overlooked.

The fiery fight boss believes Farmer-Davis will eventually play out but predicts ‘King Kong’ has what it takes to throw a spanner in the works in Philadelphia on March 15th.

DiBella outlined how “Tevin loves to fight and Tevin isn’t afraid of anybody.”

“These guys have been talking smack for a long time. Tank has a fight coming up and they are both fighting around the same time, so they are on a similar schedule,” he noted before showing some Carroll nerves.

“That fight will inevitably happen, but right, I am a very superstitious motherfucker. I don’t take anything for granted and Jono Carroll is a real fighter. I am not looking past this one.”

“You can’t look past anyone and Tevin has a real fight on March 15. Yeah I think the Tank Davis fight is envitable and I don’t think fans will have to wait a crazy amount of time, but we will see.”

It wasn’t just build the next fight patter from the experienced promoter, it seems DiBella has done his Carroll homework.

The fight figure who has a close bond with ‘The American Idol’ and stood by him through some tough times has certainly studied Carroll both in and out of the ring.

DiBella described how “Jono is a colourful kid, big talker, talks a lot of smack, he’s got that big beard and is a really interesting kid. He is fun to listen to, he is a fun fighter. Jono is very high volume puncher and he has snap in his punches.”

“He is not a one punch knock out kind of kid, but he throws so many punches he can hurt you with an accumulation of punches.”
