The tournament is being used to aid selection for the European Under-22 Championships in Vladikavkaz, Russia, in March.

Amy Broadhurst and Aoife O’Rourke, both finalists tonight, won gold and silver respectively at the last, third, edition in 2018 while Jason Quigley and Hughie Myers won gold and silver at the inaugural championships.

Tonight features a high-quality field including over a dozen Intermediate champions, eight defending champions, two champions from the Ulster Seniors last week, four Irish Elites runners-up and two Elite champions – while there has been a total of 16 major internationals (Worlds, Europeans, EUs, Commonwealths) won by the field.
