Windsor Park – LIVE UNDERCARD UPDATES

The big night is upon us.

One of the biggest boxing events ever held in Ireland will take place in Belfast.

Windsor Park is the venue for Carl Frampton’s big night.

The Jackal faces Luke Jackson at the football stadium on a bill that also sees Paddy Barnes challenge WBC flyweight champ Cristofer Rosales. The bill also features former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury as well as Luke Keeler, Conrad Cummings, Lewis Crocker, Steven Donnelly, Sean McComb, Marco McCullough, Brits Isaac lowe and Sam Maxwell, and a BUI Celtic light heavyweight title fight between Steve Collins and Steven Ward.

Live coverage begins at 7:45pm (Irish time) on BT Sport 1 but you can follow live updates from the undercard below:

Keep refreshing the page to receive the live updates.

7:48pm: Seemingly not. Hopefully Lewis gets on as a swing bout during the TV broadcast.

7:33pm: Lewis Crocker the last undercard fighter to go. Unsure I he’s being squeezed in now before the BT Sport broadcast begins.

7:32pm: 79-75 to STEVEN WARD the new BUI Celtic light heavyweight champion!

7:30pm: Ward on top again in the eighth. He has to have this as we go to the card.

7:26pm: Collins trying to push it in the seventh but Ward is still in control. Into the final round now, Collins needs a knockout or the belt s going north.

7:22pm: HUGE right hand from Collins staggers Ward at the start of the sixth. ‘The Quiet Man’ recovers quickly, however.

7:19pm: Five in now and each round is following a similar pattern – the busier Ward pressing while Collins lands a few counters but not enough to steal rounds.

7:11pm: Ward on top after three. Landed some big shots that jolted the head back of Collins in the third. The Wolfhound is still in it, though.

6:54pm: Time for a title fight – Steven Ward v Stevie Collins for the BUI Celtic light heavyweight belt. Expect fireworks.

6:52pm: It goes the distance – and Keeler gets the nod on a score of 79-73.

6:39pm: Keeler drops Grant in the fifth. The Englishman is up and manages to spoil his way to the bell.

6:35pm: Apologies for the brief break in coverage. Just finished Round 4 of Luke Keeler’s middleweight eight rounder v Dwain Grant. The Dubliner is dominating.

6:15pm: McComb keeps up the pressure in the forth and Mora is eventually stopped standing – TKO4 McComb! What a debut.

6:12pm: Mora is hurt at the start of the third, McComb comes in for the kill, furious handspeed, the Central American eventually goes down! He’s up and withstands a barrage from the Irishman including one HUGE uppercut. How is this fight stull going?

6:08pm: The right uppercut, straight left hand combo is working wonders for southpaw McComb who has Mora hurt again in the second. The wild-swinging Nicaraguan is hanging on though.

6:04pm: So much speed and style from McComb in the opener, has Mora hurt numerous times, lovely combinations, switching to head and body, what a talent.

6:00pm: Now time for the professional debut of Sean McComb. The Belfast lightweight is in with Reynaldo Mora.

5:58pm: And it is – 60-54 for Conrad Cummings who gets back on track. Now 14(6)-2(0)-1.

5:57pm: Cummings keeps pushing but we go the distance for what ill be a wide scorecards win.

5:53pm: One-way traffic in the fifth. Jenman crafty though, knows how to survive.

5:49pm: Jenman’s output has gone way down in the fourth, Cummings targeting the body, caving in his midsection, the visitor could go soon.

5:45pm: Cummings patiently breaking down Jenman in the third, very impressive so far.

5:41pm: BIG shots from Cummings to start off the second. Jenman weathers the storm, somewhat. The Englishman tries to fire back but is being bullied physically by Cummings.

5:37pm: Cummings driving Jenman back for the entirety of the opener. Jenman landing shots off the ropes, good action.

6:33pm: Good fight now – Conrad Cummings makes his return from defeat to Luke Keeler versus Brighton’s Nicky Jenman.

6:31pm: British super featherweight champ Sam Bowen has a voluntary defence on October 6th and his team are keen on McCullough who also has options in Ireland.

6:29pm: 60-55 McCullough. Slightly harsh on Ellison but the right man won, no doubt.

6:28pm: Ellison piling forward now but McCullough boxes well until the final bell. Good workout. Scorecard shortly.

6:24pm: McCullough stepping it up at the start of the fifth, landing heavy shots on Ellison who then comes back strong. Good round.

6:20pm: Good fourth for Marco, needed that. Controlled the pace and dictated the action.

6:16pm: McCullough looking quick and landing some nice single shots but may need to up the workrate a bit to make sure in these close rounds, Ellison having success off his own jab and with clubbing shots inside.

5:12pm: Ellison on the front foot in the second round but McCullough is countering well in little bursts.

5:08pm: Close first. McCullough nice and tidy at the start but Ellison has a good final minute.

5:03pm: Time now for Shankill super feather Marco McCullough against tough English fighter Jordan Ellison. It’s set for six.

5:00pm: Maxwell steamrolls Truman, with the journeyman retiring on his stool at the end of the third round. The Scouser improves to 9(7)-0.

4:46pm: Next up, Liverpool light welterweight and Paddy Barnes training partner Sam Maxwell who is up against Chris Truman.

4:44pm: And he does – 40-36 to Steven Donnelly. Nice debut win.

4:43pm: McCauley, tho his credit, comes back and trades in the fourth and final round, landing on Donnelly but the Ballymena boxer is still on top and will take this on the cards.

4:39pm: McCauley has been in with Irish fighters before – Pauly Upton, Sonny Upton, Tyrone McKenna, and Matt Wilton – but none have been as dominant as Donnelly who hurts him again at the end of the third.

4:35pm: Donnelly looking very sharp, hurts McCauley multiple times in the second. Sitting down on his shots well.

4:31pm: Some nice left hooks to the body from the Rio Olympian in round one.

4:28pm: Next up, surprisingly early and in a change to the running order, is the debut of Ballymena light middleweight Steven Donnelly. The former Elite amateur starts off in a four versus Kevin McCauley.

4:25pm: Keeping busy ahead of a British title rematch with Ryan Walsh in October, Lowe coasts the four-rounder, winning 40-36 and improving his record to 15(5)-0-3.

4:07pm: Only slightly late, Manchester feather Isaac Lowe gets us underway. Tyson Fury’s training partner is up against Jose Hernandez.

3:45pm: The rain looks to be holding off as we approach Carl Frampton’s big night at Windsor.

First bell is due today at 4:00pm
