Annoyed Carl Frampton promises to KO arrogant Luke Jackson
Following a withering put-down last night, Carl Frampton [25(14)-1(0)] has moved to further dismantle recent comments from upcoming opponent Luke Jackson [16(7)-0].
The outspoken Aussie accused Frampton of overlooking him ahead of their August 18th showdown at Windsor Park and stated his belief that ‘The Jackal’ is overweight at this stage of his camp.

Frampton, who had previously stated that his camp was going very well and that he had entered at a lower weight than usual, took aim at Jackson’s appearance and has today completely dismissed the Tasmanian’s assertions.
The Belfast 31-year-old said “to clarify – I’m a similar weight to what I was at this stage of camp for the Nonito Donaire win. According to the Manchester Institute of Health & Performance, I’ve actually got 1.5kgs of extra muscle too, so I don’t need Jackson’s opinion.”
“With regards to being on planes, I’ve always flown from Belfast to Manchester and back again for the training week. I did it ahead of beating Scott Quigg and I did it ahead of beating Leo Santa Cruz. He’s trying to make out I’m taking this lightly. I’m not.”
The comments from Jackson have somewhat confused Frampton who believes that the 33-year-old London Olympian is perhaps trying to play mindgames.
Frampton added, “let me tell you about this guy. Any time I send a Tweet, he favourites it in an attempt to befriend me so I take it easy on the night. Now he’s spouting stuff like this.”
“It’s just all a bit weird from him. It’s probably an attempt to play some kind of game – liking all my Tweets and then spouting off with insults. I’ve really no idea what he thinks it will achieve but it’s very weird.”

Many have suggested that Jackson’s recent comments – and previous ones regarding Frampton’s amateur pedigree – have been an attempt to get under the two-weight champion’s skin.
If this is the case, it has no doubt worked. However, it is a dangerous tactic and Frampton admits that he is now entering the fight with a personal edge.
The Tiger’s Bay featherweight, who puts his WBO interim belt on the line, outlined how “I’ve heard from a reliable source – someone who has sparred him – that he thinks he’s a bit of a celebrity over there. There’s definitely a bit of arrogance about him but he’s only made things worse for himself.”
“If I can get the opportunity to take any opponent out, I will do so but after this, I would love a highlight reel knockout of Jackson.”
“He’s going to get it.”
