Carl Frampton vs. Nonito Donaire

Frampton will be the favourite in the fight based on his one-loss record, which means that betting on a Frampton knockout will elevate him from a tepid value to a potentially great value if he is able to deliver the goods. Frampton’s one loss, by the way, came in a rematch against Leo Santa Cruz for the WBA Featherweight title, which Frampton had won in their first encounter. With the potential for more championship matches looming for Frampton if he can win convincingly against Donaire, he could very well go for the KO in this fight.

For Donaire, meanwhile, he enters this fight against Frampton as the underdog for a number of reasons. Despite being more experienced, Frampton is currently the better fighter, and Frampton will be fighting in his hometown of Belfast. This could cause Donaire to fight in a more aggressive fashion, knowing that he has nothing to lose, and could result in him knocking out Frampton, which would result in a handsome payout.

Katie Taylor vs. Opponent TBD

While the opponent of Katie Taylor’s April 14 bout in Dublin is not yet known, nor is the venue, the WBA female lightweight champion of the world has the potential to score a knockout. The fight is being billed as a homecoming for Taylor, who successfully defended her championship for the first time in December of 2017 when she defeated Jessica McCaskill by unanimous decision in London.

Taylor has won eight fights in her career and has not yet lost a fight. Of those eight victories, four have come by knockout, as she has proven that she is the best in her weight class. With this fight being a homecoming of sorts for Taylor, and with the opponent unknown just a couple of months before the fight, it is entirely possible that Taylor will be vastly superior to whoever she ends up squaring up against in that fight. Combine that with the fact that Taylor will be looking to put on a show for her hometown crowd, and this fight has the recipe for a knockout in Taylor’s favour.

Mick Conlan vs. Opponent TBD

Mick Conlan has made it clear that he has a special relationship with New York and Madison Square Garden, as it is the place where he made his professional debut. On St. Patrick’s Day, Conlan will have a chance to strengthen that bond with the Big Apple when he fights there as a part of the undercard for the junior welterweight title bout between Jose Ramirez and Amir Imam.

As is to be expected, a fighter having the chance to represent Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day is a tremendous honour, similar to the annual main event fight that Mexican fighters enjoy on Cinco de Mayo. To say that Conlan would like to represent Ireland with a knockout victory would be putting it lightly, as he would surely like nothing more than to show the strength of his country with a short and sweet victory.

Conlan has won all five of his career fights, with four of them coming by knockout. His only fight that has not resulted in a knockout was a six-round bout in his most recent fight, a unanimous decision victory over Luis Fernando Molina of Argentina in December 2017, in a fight that also took place at Madison Square Garden.
