Leinster Rugby coach gets new debut date
After seeing his initial debut date fall through at the last minute, Cillian Reardon will finally make his pro bow this Spring.
The Dublin middleweight has this evening been confirmed for the Ireland’s Last Man Standing card at the National Stadium on Saturday March 3rd.
Reardon will not be one of the eight middleweights compteting for the minimum €25,000 top prize but will be fighting on the undercard beforehand.
Head of Strength and Conditioning with Leinster Rugby, Reardon had been due to debut last November but saw his fight on the inaugural SK Promotions card at the Citywest pulled just hours beforehand due to licencing issues with his opponent.
Formerly an amateur with both Monkstown and DCU, Reardon now trains out of St Michael’s Inchicore under Steven O’Rourke alongside Stevie Collins, Victor Rabei, Craig McCarthy, and Roy Sheahan.
Reardon joins Rabei, Vladimir Belujsky, and Dylan Moran on the undercard along with an Irish light middleweight title fight between Craig O’Brien and Jay Byrne.
Currently confirmed for the Last Man Standing potion of the bill, shown live on TG4, are Chris Blaney, Roy Sheahan, Alfredo Meli, Bernard Roe, Sean McGlinchey, and Ger Healy.
