Warren promises to fulfill Frampton’s Windsor wish – if he beats Donaire

Belfast fight fans from are in for a special treat when former pound-for-pound-rated star Nonito Donaire [38(24)-4(1)] comes to Belfast on April 21st and Carl Frampton [24(14)-1(0)] is in for the ultimate gift if he can emerge from the fight victorious.

The blockbuster bout is being billed as one of the biggest fights ever to take place in Belfast and both Frank Warren and Richard Schaefer expect the clash to deliver on its promise.

Indeed, such was the excitement of both, the boxing clichés were out in abundance when the experienced fight makers discussed a clash that looks set to be the biggest fight BT has aired by some distance.

Warren guarantees a “barn-burner” while Ringstar’s Schaefer promises “fireworks” as two of the World’s best known featherweights come together in the Spring.

Both promoters also alluded to the fact that, while the pair’s successful pasts make it a mouthwatering clash, it’s what awaits for the winner that makes it unmissable.

“Belfast fight fans are going to be in for another treat on April 21st. This is a guaranteed barn burner between two elite Featherweights. Both men have held multiple World Titles and know that a win will lead to another shot at World glory,” Warren said of the second Frampton fight he is promoting.

While Richard Schaefer, founder of Ringstar Sports, added that “this is a fight between two of the best featherweights in the World, with multiple World Titles between them. These are two fighters who are never boring in the ring, two fighters who come forward and love to engage.”

“If styles make fights — well it doesn’t get any better than this! On April 21st it will be ‘Fireworks in Belfast’ and boxing fans from around the World will be in for a treat.”

Victory for either man would surely lead to an immediate World title shot – most likely against the winner of the Lee Selby v Josh Warrington IBF title fight in May – meaning there it’s one of those ‘a lot on the line’ fights.

However there is more than possible trinkets dangling in front of ‘The Jackal’ his dream Windsor Park fight night could be at stake.

Warren once again reiterated that a victory would see Frampton fight in the football stadium for the red belt currently held by Selby.

The veteran London promoter noted that “if Carl comes through this fight then it’s the big one at Windsor Park in the summer next. That is what we promised him and that is what we will deliver if he gets the win in April.”
