Vladimir Belujsky attending school of hard knocks ahead of Bique battle
Manny Bique was not happy to see that Vladimir Belujsky was a no show to the Red Corner Promotions press conference for ‘Champions Elect.’
The Irish-based duo, hailing from the Dominican Republic and Slovakia respectively, do battle in a four-round super middleweight contest this Saturday (October 7th) and debutant Bique believes Belujsky [0-0-1] is afraid to face him
Cork’s Belujsky however is a pensive character and sees no need for trash talk.
Indeed the student at Cork Institute of Technology enjoys the lecture hall more than the top table and explained that “I decided that going to college would be more beneficial for me rather than going up to Dublin to talk nonsense.”
“I’ll do my talking with my hands on Saturday.”
Belujsky had some work to catch up on too, having been out of the country recently for sparring to supplement his sessions with Mike Perez and Spike O’Sullivan.
The 21 year old was over in England and got some hard rounds in with Chris Eubank Jr ahead of his World Boxing Super Series quarter final against Avni Yildrim, which also takes place this Saturday.
Belujsky described how “it was a great opportunity to share the ring with a top fighter like Eubank. He was helping me with my own preparation, and I was helping him for his own fight.”
Conor Slater of Assassin Boxing added that “Vladimir is really hard working kid. He has a lot of talent, and is always learning. I saw him a few times sparring Eubank, and I was very impressed, as too were the likes of Ronnie Davies and Chris himself.”
“Mixing at an elite level can only be beneficial.”
