Gone in 42 Seconds: Gary Cully grabs destructive debut knockout
Gary Cully needed just 42 seconds on his professional debut in Belfast tonight.
The 21 year old Naas lightweight caused a stir when he announced his intention to turn pro during the Summer, and the new MTK signing made a perfect start tonight
Cully fought on the Ginley Promotions ‘Danger at The Devenish’ card and stopped rugged Hungarian Gyuala Tallosi in no time whatsoever
The 2013 European Youth champion towered over his Magyar opponent and, in his first real attack, Cully nailed Tallosi to the floor with a pair of bodyshots.
Tallosi rose at nine, but wanted no part of the bout and referee Hugh Russell Jr waved off the bout.
The quickfire win sees Cully’s brand new professional record start off at 1(1)-0. While the flattened Tallosi falls to 15(9)-23(11)
Next up for the lilywhite is an undercard slot on the Ryan Burnett v Zhanat Zhakiyanov bantamweight world title undercard at the SSE Odyssey Arena in Belfast on October 21st.
