Hyland set for Ding dong battle on Matchroom Belfast show
Eddie Hearn claimed those on the undercard of Ryan Burnett’s World title challenge to Lee Haskins would have to take a step up in class – and it seems Paul Hyland Jr will have to do just that when he appears on the June 10 Belfast card.
Undefeated lightweight ‘Hylo’ has been penciled in to face Adam Dingsdale on the SSE Odyssey Arena-hosted Sky broadcast show.
Irish fans will remember the Kent native from his WBO European title fight with Stephen ‘The Rock’ Ormond back in 2013.
‘Dingsy’ went the distance with Ormond on a Dinner show that night and went on to challenge for the English title, losing out to Kevin Hooper in March of last year.
The 29 year old has since put together three relatively routine wins and now faces a cross roads fight with the popular Hyland.
Having successfully made the step up against Peter Cope on the Matchroom NextGen show last time out ‘Hylo’ gets the chance to move another rung up the ladder as he closes in on a British title shot.
Dingsdale is certainly the action junkie’s best foe to date and has a style that could see the undefeated MHD managed lightweight in another Fight of the Year contender.
