Another batch of opponents confirmed for Celtic Clash 2

A further four opponents have been confirmed for next week’s big card in Dublin.

‘Celtic Clash 2’ takes place on Saturday May 27th at the National Stadium, and will be the largest card in Irish boxing history with seventeen fights currently scheduled.

Six opponents have so far been confirmed, and a further four are detailed below.

Lynn Harvey [3(2)-1(0)] will continue to build on the card with another six rounder. The Dublin light flyweight takes on Bulgarian Ivanka Ivanova [0-1(0)] over six two-minute rounds. The 30 year old Eastern European debuted in November, losing on points to French flyweight champion and European title challenger Sandy Coget. Harvey won on her return to the National Stadium back in February – via a bizarre third round stoppage against Sara Coca.

‘The Slovak Rebel’ Vladimir Belujsky [0-0-1] will make his home debut against Bulgarian super middle Teodor Lozanov [3(0)-6(4)] over four rounds. A recent addition to the British circuit, Lozanov has been stopped in his past two bouts against Linus Udofia and Anthony Leak. Cork’s Belujsky will be looking to bounce back from a debut draw with Anthony Fox in London back in March.

Lucan debutant John Joyce will take on Polish welter Patryk Jackowiak [2(1)-6(4)-1] in a four rounder. In his only trip to the UK, the Eastern European was stopped in the first by Jamie Robinson – who would later be outpointed by Dublin’s Dean Byrne..

Newbridge featherweight Allan Phelan [7(4)-2(1)-1] will box in a four rounder against Poland’s Dawid Knade [4(0)-15(8)]. It’s a rapid return to the ring for the Kildare man, who returned from 27 months out with a win over Johnson Tellez in February. Here he will face Polish super feather Dawid Knade [4(0)-15(8)]. The Eastern European has Irish previous, fighting both Antony Cacace and Paul Quinn in 2014, and being stopped in the second and the fourth rounds respectively.

The seventeen-fight card also features Eric Donovan, Stephen Carroll, JJ McDonagh, Sean Creagh, Rohan Date, Jay Byrne, Gerard Whitehouse, Carl McDonald, as well as debutants Liam Gaynor, Regan Buckley, Johnny Corcoran, Stephen McAfee, and Keane McMahon.

Tickets for Celtic Clash 2 are priced at €15 (Under 15s), €30, €40, €45, and €55 (Premium), and are available from the boxers involved.
