Eddie Hearn planning November world title homecoming for Katie Taylor
Katie Taylor [4(2)-0] will box for a world title this coming November on home soil according to promoter Eddie Hearn.
The Wicklow woman extended her flawless start to life without the headguard on Saturday night, dominating Milena Koleva, a recent world title challenger, in what was her first eight rounder.
Next up for Taylor is another high-profile slot on the Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitschko pay-per-view card at Wembley Stadium on Saturday April 29th, before another two fights which will lead into a world title homecoming.
The first of these will be in America, where Matchroom see huge potential for the Bray boxer – even more so than in the U.K.
Hearn told ringside Irish boxing freelancer CĂaran Gallagher his plans, outlining how “late May or early June [for the American fight date,], then have July off, come back and box in September, and then box in November for a world title.”
“Ireland is realistic for her first world title, but I think she needs to go and have a fight in America after Wembley,” explained the Matchroom Boxing chief.”
“Then go off and have the summer off and then come back and have one more and then fight for the world title.”
“So three fights, tops, before she fights for a world title,”
Whele venue wasn’t mentioned, it can be assumed from previous talk, and general common sense, that the November world title fight would take place at the 3Arena in Dublin.
It is also unknown what weight which Taylor intends to campaign at, having began her career slightly over the super featherweight limit, but recently having fought as a fully-fledged lightweight.

Persoon and Wahlstrom would be generally accepted as the biggest names in their respective weights. Taylor holds three amateur wins over Wahlstrom, most notably in the final of the 2005 European Championships, her first major medal.
