Steve Collins Jr handed huge test on Dublin card
Steve Collins Jr [9(4)-0-1] will take a huge step up in class later this month when he makes his National Stadium debut.
The Castleknock light heavyweight boxes on the Red Corner Promotions ‘Unfinished Business’ card in Dublin on Saturday February 25th where he will fight over eight rounds for the first time.
Not only will the 26 year old make the step up in rounds, he will also take a jump in level of opponent and will face high-level Argentine journeyman Pablo Sosa [7(3)-6(1)-3] in the chief support bout on the night.
The Majorca-based fighter most notably held former world title challenger Eduard Gutknecht [then 26(10)-3(1)] to an eight round draw and has also stopped 10-0 prospect Richard Baranyi.
Collins was due to headline the inaugural Red Corner show, ‘Inception,’ back in November against Nathan King, but would be forced to withdraw due to injury.
In Sosa, he is presented with an immensely tough fight for his step up and one in which he will need a career-best performance to prevail.

Also set to feature on the Luke Keeler v Lewis Taylor-headlined card are Eric Donovan, Lynn Harvey, Noely Murphy, Allan Phelan, Connor Coyle, Jay Byrne, Chris Blaney, and debutant Thomas Finnegan.
