Next opponent for Connor Coyle confirmed
Connor Coyle [2(1)-0] will face game opposition in his third professional fight next month.
The Derry light middleweight features on the Red Corner Promotions ‘Unfinished Business’ card at the National Stadium on Saturday February 25th and will face Nicaraguan Michael Mora [11(4)-15(7)] over four rounds.
Back in his native country, Mora was something of a contender, challenging for the Nicaraguan welterweight title in 2014. The Central American would then relocate, as many do, to Spain and has since made his living as a relatively high-level journeyman.
Some of the bigger names on his ledger, all losses, include Matchroom starlet Marcus Morrison (TKO1), Spanish champion Sergio Garcia (PTS8), European champion Isaac Real (RTD5), Spanish champion Nabil Krissi (TD4), WBO world title challenger Jimmy Kelly (PTS8), and EU champion Ruben Diaz (KO5). In his most recent fight the 24 year old was stopped in the third round by Manchester-Kildare super middleweight Mark Heffron.
For Coyle, Mora will seemingly provide opposition that will return fire when they meet in Dublin. The Ulsterman’s previous two fights saw him score a quick knockout of Euris Silverio, and take a points win against the overly negative Santos Medrano
The 26 year old is currently preparing under coach Jim McLoughlin out in St Petersburg, Florida
