Three Irish fighters drafted for WSB duty

Three Irish fighters have been drafted in the initial picks ahead of the seventh season of the World Series of Boxing.

Belfast light welterweight Sean McComb will make his debut in the competition, and will box for the British Lionhearts. Here he will be joined by Clonmel super heavyweight Dean Gardiner.

McComb has also linked up with BSK Hannover-Seelce for the Bundesliga season, making his debut for the German side a fortnight ago in the 3x3minute competition..

Kilkenny heavyweight Darren O’Neill will reprise his role for the Venezuela Caciques.

As is usually the case, more Irish boxers are expected to be picked up over the course of the season.

Last week the IABA confirmed that they plan to investigate the feasibility pf an Irish WSB franchise for the latter half of the Tokyo Olympic cycle.

Meanwhile, the first matches of this season will take place on February 3rd.
