Familiar foe for Timsey this weekend
Ian Tims [11(3)-3(2)] will face a familiar opponent at the Europa Hotel on Saturday night.
The Tank returns to the ring after eleven months on the MHD Promotions ‘Another Level’ dinner show, and the new MGM signing will fight Lithuanian Remigijus Ziausys [20(10)-68(2)-2].
Tims fought the Baltic boxer in his fifth fight back in 2008 at the Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney, county Kerry, winning a competitive (59:57) six round decision.
The ultra-durable Ziausys has gone the distance with all manner of names including Stephen Simmons, Craig Kennedy, Youri Kalenga, Dereck Chisora, Grigory Drozd, Dillian Whyte, Sam Sexton, Krzysztof Glowacki, Ian Lewison, Mariusz Wach, and Robert Helenius.
The 32 year old also has further Irish previous, having been outpointed by Coleman Barrett in 2010, as well as Darren Corbett and Michael Sweeney in 2008.
Tims forms part of a six-fight undercard to the Paul Hyland Jr-headlined bill which also includes Feargal McCrory, Tyrone McCullagh, Carl McDonald, Jay Byrne, and Ronnie Clark.
