Ireland’s youngest pro is getting some top sparring in America
Aaron McKenna, Ireland’s youngest professional fighter, has been getting some top class sparring out in California ahead of his debut.
McKenna, who only recently turned 17, is due to make his debut in Mexico in the near future. Due to his age, McKenna is actually unable to box professionally in Ireland or America.
The Sheer Sports-managed prospect has recently shared some sparring with unbeaten super bantamweight contender Jessie Magdaleno [23(17)-0].
Magdaleno has been mandated to face Nonito Donaire for the Filipino’s WBO title but Monaghan’s McKenna by all accounts did himself justice in the spar with the Las Vegas southpaw.
And Magdaleno isn’t the only experience pro that the Ulsterman has been in with, having shared the ring with Chinese light welterweight star Ik Yang [19(14)-2(1)] last month.
