Nevin ready to kick start flagging pro career with August win

John Joe Nevin [7(4)-0] will fight for the first time this year next month.

The fighter some label Ireland’s most talented male amateur hasn’t found the paid path paved with gold just yet.

‘The Mullingar Shuffler’ has ironically shuffled along the road to major honours since debuting back in 2014.

The 27 year old Olympic silver medal winner hasn’t been as active as he would have wished, a double leg break not helping along the way, but the extremely talented technician is hoping to move into World title contention over the next 12 months.

Super featherweight Nevin is scheduled to fight on Friday August 26th at Sugar House Casino in Philadelphia in theand he hopes the clash will be the first as he finally gets his career into gear.

The Westmeath slickster will be fighting for the first time since the removal of a 4lb metal bar in his leg, a result of his assault, and it is assumed that his boxing will greatly benefit from this.
