Return to the ring confirmed for Ryan Burnett

Belfast star Ryan Burnett will be back in action next month.

The British bantamweight champion, who last fought on the Frampton-Quigg undercard in February, will box live on Sky Sports on the Josh Warrington-headlined bill in Leeds on July 30th.

Matchroom head honcho Eddie Hearn confirmed the news this morning on social media.

Burnett had been scheduled to appear alongside Tommy McCarthy on the Ricky Burns-headlined show in Glasgow last month but was a late withdrawal.

It is unconfirmed at the moment whether Burnett will be defending his British title on next month’s bill.

Also featuring on the card at the First Direct Arena will be Tyrone Nurse, who defends his British light welterweight belt in a third fight against Chris Jenkins, and Gamal Yafai, who defends his Commonwealth super bantamweight title against Josh Wale, as well as slots for Dillian Whyte, Sam Eggington, Frankie Gavin, Tommy Martin, and Luke Campbell.
