Steven Donnelly scores dominant WSB win

Steven Donnelly got back to winning ways tonight in the World Series of Boxing.

The Poland Hussars welterweight comprehensively defeated his Argentina Condors, Maximiliano Ocampo, in Krakow.

Following a rusty loss in Venezuela back in February, the All Saints fighter was back in top form in Eastern Europe.

Ballymena’s Donnelly took every round on all three cards (50-44, 50-45 x2), and exhibits both effective aggression and clever counter-punching throughout.

The Ulster boxer is sure to take confidence from the victory as well as his recent time spent sparring with European champion Eimantas Stanionis.

With the win, the Commonwealth bronze medal winner’s WSB record now stands at 6-2.

Donnelly will now take a short break for a minor surgery to rectify a niggling hand injury before jumping straight back into preparations for the Rio Olympics in August.
