Taylor wins in Cork
Katie Taylor beat Serbia’s Jelina Jelic at the Macroom GAA Complex in Cork tonight.
The Olympic champion posted an impressive unanimous decision in the main event of the evening on a Kanturk BC hosted show ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Queen Underwood of the USA at the Mount Brandon Hotel in Kerry.
Fifteen additional bouts featuring some of Ireland’s, Munster’s and Cork’s finest young prospect were also decided on Leeside this evening.
Jim McConville, head coach with the Kanturk BC, thanked all for their support.
Cork’s John Casey refereed tonight’s fight. Robbie Ahern, Shane Forde and Ted Barry judged the contest.
John Wiseman, Secretary of the Cork Board, was Chief Official at the Macroom GAA Complex.
