Dennis Hogan responds to Rocky call
Dennis Hogan is ready to ensure a sad ending to the Rocky story.
Post victory against Shannon King, on a card taken in by a one million-strong tv audience, Rocky Jerkic called out the OZ based Irish light middleweight.
The undefeated 27 year old won the Australian title, that once sat around the waist of ‘The Hurricane’ before he moved beyond domestic level to eventually challenge for the WBA Interim World title, and would like to make his first defence against Hogan.
It is a step back for World ranked Hogan, but one he is willing to take considering he is coming off a defeat to Jack Culcay in December.
Hogan has responed to Jerkic on social media and is keen to prove to the Aussie he is not at Hogan’s level.
“I have been called out four times before and said yes on each occasion but then the fighter backed away, so i will say the same to you mate yes.
Fighting you now does nothing for my career moving forward right now, i have double the fights you do and was winning Australian titles two years ago, but if you really want to see who the best light middleweight in Australia is then lets do it
“I have met you once and thought you were a decent fella and I respect every boxer so you wont catch me putting you down in public not my style mate , but this is a business so if you are really keen and not just talking get your team to contact mine and lets make it happen and give Australia a good domestic fight and show everyone who is number 1 in the land.”
