Clash of the Clans headline fight confirmed
A Liverpool versus London clash will take center stage in the National Stadium on February 6, as unbeaten prospects Joe Selkirk and Gary Corcoran will top the MGM Clash of the Clans bill.
Selkirk a former WBO middleweight European champion will trade leather with Corcoran, who has Irish heritage, for the WBO Intercontinental light middleweight strap and according to Boxnation the clash will be the headline act.
While the title fight has the makings of an entertaining dust up Irish fight fans would have preferred to see one of the local talents grab the spotlight.
Indeed, some have suggested news of a Corcoran Selkirk headline means their will most likely be routine outings rather than tests for higher up the bill home fighters.
However, it has to be said Jamie Cox was confirmed as the official headline act of the Second Coming card, but played second fiddle to some all Irish clashes and some rising Irish talent on the night.
Regardless of who is top of the bill the card, which Jamie Conlan, Stephen Ormond, Jamie Kavanagh, Patrick Hyland Phil Sutcliffe Jr, Peter McDonagh, Gary Sweeney, Sean Creagh and Craig O’Brien have all been confirmed on, is some good opponents away from being one of the best fight nights Dublin has seen in many a year.
