Olympic gold medal odds released for Barnes and Conlan

With the Rio Olympics just under a year away, Irish bookmaking giants Paddy Power have announced the odds they are offering for Ireland’s two qualified boxers.

Earlier this year, Belfast duo Mick Conlan and Paddy Barnes both secured early qualification to the thirty-first Olympiad via the World Series of Boxing.

Light flyweight Barnes can be had at the very short price of 6/4. The Holy Family GG boxer is aiming for his third Olympic medal and is desperately hoping to claim gold after two bronzes.

Clonard ABC bantamweight Mick Conlan is being offered at 5/1. The recently crowned European champion is eager to make a mockery of these relatively long odds and even joked on twitter about the price:

For any super confident Irish fans who fancy a flutter, a double on the pair both to win gold is a tasty-looking 14/1.
