Mullen believes he is a dark horse with a bright future
The fighter MGM billed as the ‘Dark Horse’ of Irish boxing believes he has a bright future in the game, although he admits he can’t try and gallop his way to the top.
The signing of Ciaran Mullen by MGM came from left field. The 22 year old Dubliner wasn’t on really on radar of fight fans and they will all be interested to see how he fairs out on his debut in Spain on August 28.
Team MGM, however are confident Mullen can surprise a few and become an Irish boxing name, “We think Ciaran will be a dark horse in the pro game; you will not meet a hungrier or fitter boxer, with a fantastic attitude.”
The fighter himself is singing of the one fight at a time hymn sheet and knows a number of rungs in the ladder have to be negotiated before he can even mention titles.
“Fans can expect a strong, exciting fighter and hopefully they will see that when I am in the ring” Mullen told Irish-boxing.com.
“I have my heart and head focused in the right place and the long term goal is to make it to the top. I know I am at the bottom of the ladder now and I have to take step by step performing to the best of my ability along the way.
“I think now is the right time to get in and get going. I am only 22, but I feel I am maturing now. I have a lot in my tank and I am ready to release it!.”
