Carroll a cut of above- gash can’t stop ‘King Kongs’ winning run
JONO Carroll proved a cut above Barrington Brown and pushed his record to 8-0 in Manchester tonight (Saturday).
The victory didn’t quite come in the manner ‘King Kong’ wanted, but the Prizefighter Champion will be content with a sixth win in just under 8 months.
A clash of heads in the second round opened a cut above the Celtic Gym Warriors eye and a no contest looked on the card.
However, the Dubliner’s corner stemmed the flow of blood enabling Carroll to make it past the fourth round meaning if stopped the bout would go to the referee’s scorecard.
The referee was forced to step in and call a halt in round five and when it went to his card the Matchroom puncher was a clear winner.
The charismatic super featherweight won every round and as result won his eight straight fight.
