30 years ago today Barry McGuigan claimed the WBA super featherweight World title on a night that has gone down in Irish sporting folklore.

McGuigan dethroned Panamanian Eusebio Pedroza in front of 27,000 passionate Irish fight fans.

The Clones Cyclone cemented his place as an Irish fight and indeed sporting legend with the win victory.
