Barry McGuigan to fight in Devinish on August 8

OK it’s not that Barry McGuigan. Although he keeps himself in great shape the Irish-boxing legend isn’t making a comeback.

The Cyclone Promotions boss is still doing his bit for Irish boxing looking after a stable of fighters that includes IBF World super bantamweight champion Carl Frampton, Conrad Cummings and Anthony Cacace, but a fighter of the same name makes his pro debut on August 8.

McGugian takes on big punching Mark Morris on an interesting August 8 card in Belfast. The card includes prospect Eamonn Magee Jr, an interesting clash between former Irish champion John Waldron and former Irish title challenger Joe Hillerby as well as veteran Tommy Tolan.

There are also debuts for Conor Doherty, Darren Mangan and Padrigh McCroy on the Devinish card.
