Sugar Rea takes on puncher on the way up Down Under

BALLYMENA’S Joe Rea will be hoping to derail Australian prospect Bilal Akkawy’s progression when he fights the puncher in Sydney on Saturday.

The super middleweight boast’s a 90% knock out ratio having stopped all but one of his opponents to date and will be favourite to beat ‘Sugar Rea’ in the Allphones Arena, Olympic Park, Sydney.

However, former Prizefighter contestant Rea is one of those ‘you never know what your getting’ performers and has the ability to cause an upset.

He boasts one win, two draws and two defeats in his last five fights and by all accounts was unlucky not to get the decision in a number of those clashes.
