O’Reilly plans to dish out a boxing lesson in tonight’s decider
REIGNING senior champion Micheal O’Reilly vowed to give Stephen Broadhurst a lesson in the art of boxing this Friday night.
The talented Portlaoise puncher came through a tough Conor Colye test last Saturday night, defeating the Commonwealth medal winner by split decision in the National Stadium.
The middleweight, who has caught the eye over the last 12 months, was happy with his performance, but believes there is room for improvement.
And after banking three tough rounds and victory on Saturday last he is confident those improvements will be there for all to see against on a TG4 broadcast decider.
“The semi final was the first fight of the championships so it was just about getting into it. I knew I won the fight, but I was surprised when I heard split decision. That was the first contest and I am just warming into it the next one won’t be as bad. That fight was probably a worthy final, but the next fella is getting thought a boxing lesson.”
