Andy Lee closes in on second World title shot-WBO are considering making Lee v Korobov
ANDY Lee could be in line for a second and much coveted World title shot.
WBO president Paco Valcarcel claims the organisation are considering a request from Frank Warren to ratify a clash between the Limerick man and Matt Korobov.
The WBO official tweeted-
I have referred to the WBO World Championship Committee a request from promoters @trboxing and @frankwarren_tv for Matt Korobov vs Andy Lee.

After last week’s Billy Joe Saunders Chris Eubank Jr debacle it seemed as if Saunders was on course to fight to fight Russian Korobov for the middleweight title vacated by Peter ‘Kid Chocolate’ Quillin on November 29.
However news Warren has asked for Lee to be considered for the vacant strap suggests Saunders Vs Eubank might be back on, Warren’s involvement has also suggested that if Lee claims victory he will have to defend against Saunders, which could put off a much desired Matthew Macklin dust up.
Either way the talented former Olympian, who challenged Julio Chavez Jr for the WBC 160lbs title back in 2012, will be delighted to receive a second tilt and would be confident of emulating Carl Frampton and becoming an Irish World champion in 2014.
