Team Ireland arrive Ireland in Nanjing for youth Olympics

Team Ireland arrived in Nanjing, China yesterday ahead of Saturday’s Opening Ceremony, which promises to be a spectacular occasion, for the 2014 Youths Olympics.

The Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Village (YOV) will house 3800 athletes, along with team coaches and officials, for the duration of the 2nd edition of the Games.

The YOV was officially opened by Executive President of the Nanjing 2014 organising committee, Yang Weize accompanied by IOC Executive Director, Gilbert Felli.

Mayo’s Ciara Ginty, Cork’s Christina Desmond and Donegal’s Michael Gallagher will represent Ireland in the boxing event at the Games. Boxing begins on August 23rd.
