Irish Champion McDonagh fights Canadian prospect in Canada this weekend
JJ McDonagh will be hoping to emulate Willie Casey this weekend, by winning in Canada and kick starting his career.
Casey upset the odds and beat Tyson Cave, current World ranked fighter and Kid Gallahad’s next foe, by stoppage back in 2010 and registered a win that changed his his career. The Limerick man soon after secured a spot in Prizefighter and was European Champion within a year.
The Irish super middleweight champion is set to take on Haitian born Canadian Schiller Hyppolite (12-1) at the Expo Centre in Quebec City and will be hoping to upset the locals.
Hyppolite is highly regarded in Canada, and Prizefighter finalist McDonagh will be looking to spoil the party and announce himself as a real force in the exciting super middleweight division.
