Paddy Gallagher and Dean Byrne learn potential Prizefighter foes
FINAL FOUR NAMES CONFIRMED FOR PRIZEFIGHTER WELTERWEIGHTS
Jason Cook, John Coyle, Marc Douglas and Johnny Garton gunning for glory on April 5
The final four names in the line-up have been named for the Prizefighter Welterweights 4 at the sold-out York Hall, Bethnal Green on April 5, live on Sky Sports.
Former European Lightweight champion Jason Cook, unbeaten 20 year old John Coyle, Berkshire’s Marc Douglas and Peckham’s unbeaten Johnny Garton join Former British Light Middleweight title challenger Erick Ochieng, Commonwealth Games Gold medallist Paddy Gallagher, Midlands Area champion Sam Eggington and Dubliner Dean Byrne in the hunt for the trophy in the 33rd edition of Matchroom Sport’s eight-man, one night tournaments.
Topping the bill on a great night of action in East London is Islington’s Middleweight star John Ryder as he begins a second assault on the British title with an eliminator against Jez Wilson. Ryder was on the wrong end of a tight decision against fellow London talent Billy Joe Saunders when they met for the British and Commonwealth titles in September while Wilson claimed the Central Area belt in June 2012 and has three stoppage wins from his last four fights.
Popular unbeaten Carshalton Light Welterweight Ricky Boylan is in eight-round action on the card, which also sees Cruiserweight Wadi Camacho face a four-rounder as he ticks over in preparation for his grudge match with Stephen Simmons that is set to be rescheduled for the summer.
