Kiko wants Dunne in Dublin

Promoter Tommy Egan has revealed that Kiko Martinez has his heart set on a rematch with Bernard Dunne – in Dublin.
Martinez claimed the European super-bantamweight title with a stunning first-round stoppage of Dunne last year, only to lose the belt in his very first defence, against Rendall Munroe in March.
Egan, who is promoting Martinez’s next outing, in Tallaght, Dublin next month, is now claiming that the Spaniard is closing in on a rematch with Munroe and, provided he reclaims his title, is then hoping for another date with Dunne.
Martinezs manager, Belfast businessman Pat Magee, contacted me and asked me if Id like to have Kiko on the Tallaght Arena show and naturally I said I was delighted, Egan is quoted as saying by The Star.
Martinez hasnt fought since the Munroe fight and this is a perfect opportunity, not only for him to get back into the ring, but also for the Dublin boxing public to get another look at him.
He has made it clear that he wants to fight Bernard again and that hes prepared to do it in Dublin.
He is still the mandatory challenger for the European title and is fully convinced that hell beat Munroe the second time around. Then he wants to defend it against Bernard.
He knows that a fight with Dunne offers him the biggest payday there is out there for him.
Thats why he wants the fight, and thats why hes prepared to have it in Dublin.
His return with Munroe will probably take place around November and, assuming he regains the title, hell be ready to fight Dunne again early next year,” he added.
