Jamie Kavanagh is hoping to celebrate one year as a pro with victory over John Willoughby on a Los Angeles Club Nokia show tonight.

The Golden Boy Promoted star is delighted with how he has progressed in his debut year and is hoping for much the same over the next 12 months.

The Nuisance has been kept busy in his first season as a paid fighter and feels he is blossoming under the guidance of Freddie Roach and his famous promotional team.

“I feel this year went well for me. I got a great number of fights and was kept active. I am hoping to next year will be the same. I am not the type of fighter to make bold predictions as to where I will be this time next year. All I can do is just keep winning. I have certain goals of course but my promoters will get me those fights when they think I am ready. They have done great by me this year so far so I have to trust them. They are moving me along  nicely,” Kavanagh told Mirror Sport.

The Irish Prospect of the Year has been tipped for the top by, Freddie Roach, the man deemed the greatest trainer in the world and it seems in the Wild Card gym he has been given every opportunity to fulfill his potential.

“Training and sparring for this fight have been great. Sparring in Wild Card is always good. You get great experience with the quality that is here. I have been sparring former European Champion Yuri Ramanau and Art Hovhannesyan, who is a great Armenian prospect for this fight, which is brilliant. I feel I have the chance to fulfill my potential here and I have done well in my first year. I plan to continue to progress. I am sparring and mixing it with the best in the world at the moment and that can only help me keep winning.”
