Spike O’Sullivan comes to UFC stars rescue in Cork

Gary Spike O’Sullivan came to the rescue of UFC star Johnny Walker in Cork last weekend.

The Brazilian fighter who trains out of Dublin under John Kavanagh visited Leeside last weekend for a stag.

The 6’5 MMA name initially wasn’t impressed with Cork and what the Munster county had to offer nightlife wise – he took to social media to express as much.

“I’m so so sorry but I have to say Cork night Friday night sucks, nothing to do anymore, the city is dead! Hopefully, Saturday is better, tonight sucks,” he said.

One Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan made sure Walker and the crew had a better night Saturday, coming to the rescue and showing them how fun is to be had in his home City.

Walker, who is Celtic Warrior Gym regular, where he brushes up on his boxing game with Paschal Collins, certainly seemed to have a better night on Saturday, no doubt O’Sullivan will have no issue taking the credit!

Light middleweight O’Sullivan will be an interested spectator as Dennis Hogan challenges Sam Eggington for the IBO light middleweight world title on a No Limit show in Brisbane this weekend.

The Pascal Collins trained puncher has been linked to ‘The Hurricane’ for some time and has had his eye on Egginton since he picked up the IBO earlier this year.

It’s believed Sky Sports, who broadcast the Hennessy Sports fighter’s title win over Przemyslaw Zysk, fancy a ‘Spike’ – Eggington bust up. They would have put the Rebel County fighter on the undercard of the English fighter’s defence against Hogan had it taken place in England.

However, No Limit won the purse bids and Australian-based Hogan gets home away from home advantage for what is a win or retire fight for him.

Either way, O’Sullivan wants the winner and let it be known.
