Lou DiBella not happy with Claire Byrne guest – New York promoter wants to ‘thrown down a few pints’ with the ‘boys’ in Ireland
It seems New York promoter Lou DiBella has a bit of a goo on him.
The veteran fighter maker took to Twitter today to express a desire to come to Ireland and have a drink with as many people as possible.
Di Bella said : “I can’t wait to pack myself into a really good Irish pub, with complete strangers, and throw down a few pints. In fact, I’m looking forward to crossing the pond and doing just that with the boys soon.”
Di Bella was responding to a clip from Brenda Power’s appearance on RTE’s Claire Byrne show. The journalist questioned whether or not people would return to pubs. She suggested people would realise they really weren’t happy in packed bars and may re think their drinking habits.
Di Bella certainly doesn’t agree.
Get out of here with this lady! Who wants to see this bore at a pub anyway?! I can’t wait to pack myself into a really good #Irish pub, with complete strangers, and throw down a few pints. In fact, I’m looking forward to crossing the pond and doing just that with the boys soon.🍺 https://t.co/ajyPj2ki35 pic.twitter.com/faj4f80muH

Di Bella has had a good connection with Irish fighters over the years [ explained in detail when speaking to the Rocky Road podcast]- and has visited an Irish pub or two either side of the Atlantic. The respected promoter and manager has worked with Andy Lee and Matthew Macklin in the past. The New Yorker is now guiding the career of former amateur sensation Joe Ward and the stronger the relationship with Ireland the better for the sport here.
