‘One last run’ – Luke Keeler confirms one last world title run

Luke Keeler [17(5)-3(2)-1] will fight on.

The Ballyfermot middle believes he has one run left in him and is going to give it everything he has got to try and achieve the world title dream.

‘Coolhand’ was last seen in the ring challenging for the WBO middleweight world title, the Pete Taylor trained fighter eventually being stopped by Demetrius Andrade in Miami in January of 2020.

The former BUI Celtic and Irish champion has fought since and there hasn’t been much talk about a return.

Granted the 33-year-old did mention soon after the reverse, that he felt one big win could lead to a second-world tilt and did suggest himself and Jason Quigley could trade leather.

However, in recent months things have gone quiet on the Keeler front and there were some suggesting he had called it a day.

That’s not the case and today he confirmed he is back training and is preparing for a final push.

The popular middle secured the world title shot post defeating Luis Arias in the Falls Park in 2019 and the fighter who only went full time in recent years believes another such win could see him back in the mix. Managerial stablemate Liam Williams fights Andrade for the same 160lbs title Keeler fought for this coming weekend – if he was to win it a Welsh Irish clash may be easy to make.
