Miriam Gutierrez can change her ‘beautiful story’ to a ‘legendary one’ says her actor coach

Victory over Katie Taylor [16(6)-0] in London tomorrow night would allow the beautiful tale of Miriam Gutierrez [13(7)-0] to become a story of legend, according to her coach and professional actor Jeronimo.

After surviving severe domestic abuse, the Spaniard has managed to make a real success of her life in and out of the ring.

The 37-year-old has gone on to set up an anti bullying charity, is a strong voice against domestic violence across Spain and got elected to her local Counsel.

In the ring she remains unbeaten, has won the European lightweight title and now challenges a boxing great for four would title belts, in the biggest fight involving a Spanish fighter since Poli Díaz took on Pernell Whitaker in 1991.

It’s a ‘beautiful’ story explains her multi talented coach but one that could become script worthy with a win tomorrow.

“Miriam’s story is the most beautiful there is and every day here is wonderful  this story can become a legend, ” said the Don’t Tempt Me and Solo star.

Very much like ‘La Reina’, the coach is more optimistic than assured going into the Sky Broadcast clash.

He admits his charge will need some fortune and for Taylor to be off peak form.

“Obviously we don’t do things to avoid winning, and since this fight came about we have thought about victory. Of course we need to some luck, but you earn your own luck, ” acknowledges the coach.

“We have studied Katie to know where to attack, but we are not going to be delusional either. We need it to be a bad day for Katie and the best for Miriam, but we have come here to change history . Miriam’s dream was facing Taylor and now she is here.”
