Opponents confirmed for latest Spanish adventure

The latest Irish fighters set for a trip to Spain have confirmed opponents.

Dylan Moran [15(7)-1(1)], Tony Browne [1(1)-0], John Cooney know who await them at the Onguardamar Arena in Alicante on November 21.

David Bency [14(4)-17(7)-1] provides the opposition for Moran, a fighter primed for some step up action.

The Spain based Nicaragua native hasn’t won since relocating last year, but has given rounds to some emerging prospects.

It’s not ideal opposition for the Waterford favourite at this stage of his career, but is more than acceptable for a fighter without a promoter during a pandemic.

The 25-year-old will be more than content with being busy during this period, particularly considering his previous promoter’s PGP Boxing left him in limbo by going out of business during the summer.

The fight will play out over eight rounds and should leave Moran sharp enough for any form of step up should it arise in early 2021.

The fight follows an outing in Poland and follows fight in Spain, Germany, Austria, England and America.

‘Super Fly’ Browne faces an interesting second fight. Cameron native Herbert Kuate [2(0)-1(0)] will man the opposite corner as Browne fights for just the second time in his career.

The Dubliner’s opponent comes into the clash on the back of an upset win and has won two of three bouts. How dangerous Kuate is remains to be seen, but with his record and the unknown element there is a risk element.

Cooney will debut against Cristian Abata [0-2(0)] over four rounds.

The 25-year-old Ecuadorian took Cooney’s gym mate Victor Rabei the distance in September, the last time he fought.
