‘€1,000 for every round he lasts and €20,000 if he stops me’ – Vladimir Belujsky ups the ante and makes Craig McCarthy a new offer

Vladimir Belujsky [9(7)-3(1)-1] is willing to put some serious money where is mouth is.

The Cork based super middle has taken over negotiations with recent BUI middleweight Celtic title challenger Craig McCarthy [7(2)-0-1] – and is offering the Waterford fighter some serious cash bonuses if he does agree to fight.

A clash between the pair had been re introduced as a possibility on Wednesday night, but when speaking to Irish-boxing.com, McCarthy suggested the offer made was insulting.

‘Built 2 Last’ said he was interested in trading leather with the ‘Slovak Rebel’, but not for ‘journey man money’ and not if the fight was to take place in a ‘pub’ or ‘school’.

Keen to get busy Belujsky can’t understand why the Déise southpaw would turn down any form of purse in the current climate, but is still willing to throw in some cash incentives, including a whopping €20,000 if McCarthy can stop him.

“He’s a fool,” a frustrated Belujsky told Irish-boxing.com.

“The world isn’t the same anymore, fighters are begging for opportunities and here I am offering him cash to fight me. He never made me any offers, I’m paying him. He’s getting a chance to fight when many aren’t and he doesn’t have to pay any house money or pay for opponents.”

“Put simply he has to show up and fight me and earn money. It’s a year since he fought. He talks a good game but anyone in boxing really knows what level he’s at and if he wants to prove any of them wrong why not fight me,” he continued before making some interesting offers.”

“He says he wants more money. I will give him €1,000 for every round he lasts with me, every time he hears that bell he can have €1,000. If he beats me I’ll give him a €5,000 bonus.”

“That could be an easy €15,000 for him if he’s the spiritual warrior that he say he is. I’ll even give him €20,000 if he KO’s me. Everyone in boxing knows he’s a clown. He’s the most deluded person I have ever met. Again he’s a fool I think he’s expecting Callum Smith to call him out next week.”

Belujsky, who predicts a first round stoppage if he was to fight McCarthy, was close to securing a slot on the Katie Taylor undercard next weekend.

The PHD student agreed to step in and fight John Docherty [9(7)-0] on November 14. The fight didn’t materialise after the Scot agreed to fight Jack Cullen after Jamie Cox pulled out.

Belujsky revealed the rising prospect has been on his radar for some time and is one he will look for again, as he is confident he has the Scott’s number.

“We pushed for it for a while and there was some back and forth. We agreed it last Friday and on Monday they were on booking our flights and everything. Then Tuesday Eddie put out that tweet,” he added before revealing he has been promised a Matchroom chance.

“They got on to me and told me to stay ready and that id get my chance. Either way I’ll be fighting before Christmas 100%.”

“If you look at Twitter this is one my manager wanted for some time. Conor [Slater] told me 12 months ago, that I’d get you the Doc fight, and I’ve studied him since. I’m a fan of how he carries himself and how he is outside the ring, but inside the ring I know I’m better than him and could exploit his weaknesses, he’s been well matched and I think I’d be the one to take his 0.”
