Lethal Larry – Fryers secures massive Top Rank ESPN date
Larry Fryers [11(4)-2(1)] will bring Irish boxing back with a bang.
The New York based Monaghan fighter will become the first Irish fighter to trade leather since March and lockdown- and will do so on a high profile television card.
Fryers tonight confirmed he will fight on an ESPN Top Rank broadcast card in just over a weeks time.
‘Lethal’ will fight in Las Vegas on the fourth Top Rank bubble card come June 30.
The card will be topped by a bout between Alex Saucedo and Sonny Fredrickson and the 29-year-old light welterweight will take part in one of the four other fights on the bill.
Top Rank have yet to confirm who will appear on the undercard, but Fryers has confirmed he will partake in the biggest fight of his career.
The Irish fighter didn’t reveal who he will be fighting, but it’s safe to assume he will be in with a Top Rank fighter in and around light welter.
Top Rank have unified world champion Josh Taylor at the weight and names like Josue Vargas, Jose Pedraza, Javier Molina as well as prospects such as Antonio Vargas, Jose Lopez and Elvis Rodriguez.
Regardless of opponent the platform gives Fryers the chance to make an impression to a massive audience.
Fryers most recently saw a mouthwatering all Irish March clash with lightweight Ray Moylette fall through because of Covid. It was the second time the Monaghan man had agreed to fight the Mayo favourite and the second time it didn’t materialize.
Fryers did fight on DAZN last time out, taking on Wesely Ferrer on a Matchroom show. However, he suffered frustrating points defeat against a fighter he argued got away with far too much holding.
He now has another chance to impress the cameras and will be determined to make the most o fit.
