Eddie Hearn reveals Katie Taylor and Jason Quigley August plans
Eddie Hearn plans to put Katie Taylor [15(6)-0] and Jason Quigley [18(14)-1(1)] on the same Dillian Whyte Alexander Povetkin undercard in August.
The Matchroom boss is currently preparing closed to the public shows, that will play out on the grounds at promotional companies headquarters.
Taylor, Jono Carroll, TJ Doheny and James Tennyson’s promoter plans to run a show a week over a four week period and hopes to have the first show on July 18.
The last of those Sky Sports and DAZN broadcast fight nights will be a PPV event topped by heavyweight’s Whyte and Povetkin – and Hearn plans to use Taylor and Quigley as part of a strong undercard.
“We are still planning Katie Taylor, hopefully we can still get the Serrano fight away .. we got Callum Johnson for the European title and we have Quigley versus Cullen. The card will pretty much be the same,” Hearn told iFLTV.
Both Irish fighters had agreed to fight on the heavyweight’s card when it was set for Manchester and May 2.
Taylor was due to face Amanda Serrano in what is being billed as ‘the biggest female fight of all time’.
Quigley was set to face recent British title challenger and Last Man Standing contestant Jack Cullen.
The Cullen bout is one Quigley is keen on and is a fight the current pandemic shouldn’t threaten.
