Ring master to ring bearer – Carl Frampton acts as witness for fan’s Las Vegas wedding day after big win
He has entertained them over the years, always had time for them, thanked them contentiously and even bought them pints, but Carl Frampton went to the next level for two fans this weekend.
Not long after he dominated Tyler McCreary to return to winning ways and set up a massive world title fight, Frampton was acting witness for two fans wedding.
The former two weight world champion explained when speaking to BBC’s Sport Extra before the fight that the Belfast couple had planned to get married on the Monday after the fight, but moved their plans to suit Frampton’s flight arrangements.
“There’s a couple coming over, I won’t say their names.
“But they’re coming over from back home, and they are getting married in one of these little white chapels.
“They have asked me to be their witness. It is a big responsibility.
“I am going home on Sunday evening, and originally they were getting married on Monday morning.
Despite battling hand issues from early in the fight on, it was vintage @RealCFrampton in Vegas Saturday night, as he set himself up for a 2020 world title shot behind 10 rounds of unrelenting body work. #FramptonMcCreary pic.twitter.com/8iMVfHcvqi

“I told them I couldn’t do it, so they changed their wedding to the Sunday afternoon because I was going home on the Sunday night.
“I wasn’t being a prima donna or anything. I said I’d love to do it but explained that I would be away home.
“So I didn’t tell them to change their wedding date or anything like that.
“They changed it off their own back. I am looking forward to it. I can’t wait.
“I think it is nice and it will be one for the book.”
Hours after delivering in the ring Frampton delivered on his promises and was present as a witness when Andrew and Sandra tied the knot.
Congratulations to Andrew & Sandra on their wedding. Honoured to have been asked to be a witness 👰🤵💒 pic.twitter.com/GqcznL2upB
